Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find help to compile my POE?

The introduction to your learner manual contains detailed instructions to compile each section of your POE. You can also contact PMADS or go to the Learner Resources Page for the programme you attended. Your User Name is your Last Name as recorded on the Attendance register and your Password is your ID Number.

When should I submit my POE?

Your submission date was included in the briefing on your Assessment by your Facilitator. Contact us with your ID Number for the date.

How do I get an extension on my submission date?

Send an E Mail to PMADS with the reasons for the extension and your ID Number. We must record the request and reasons which must be in writing.

I am done with my POE. How do I submit?

Deliver, Post or Courier your POE to PMADS. Go to the Contacts Page for details.

What happens after submission of my POE?

You will be notified of the Assessor's decision within seven days of receipt of your POE. The communication will be in the form of feedback per specific outcome. If you are Competent, you will be informed that your Certificate and Statement of Results are ready for despatch or collection.

If your programme was sponsored by your employer, your Certificate and Statement of Results will be sent to your employer.

What is a Statement of Results (SOR)

This is a document issued by the ETQA through which your programme was accredited. The SOR confirms your achievements of the Unit Standard/s and will be required as evidence of this achievement when registering as a practitioner with any of the ETQA's.

Can I get Duplicates of my Certificate and SOR?

This is possible, but there might be a cost involved. Make copies of your SOR and store the original in a safe place. Contact us if you need a duplicate.

When will my Certificate Expire?

Unless an expiry date appears on the certificate, it is valid for life.

I have my Certificate. What next?

For Assessors and Moderators:

You are now ready to Register as a Constituent Assessor or Moderator. Download the Registration Forms, complete and submit these to the ETQA where you wish to register.

Read the forms carefully for specific requirements - these vary between ETQA's. Incomplete submission may delay the process, which takes about six weeks.

You can register for any Unit Standards, provided that you meet the ETQA requirements for registration and that you have proven competence against the Unit Standards or in the field you want to Assess and Moderate.

Remember that you need to Assess and Moderate within an Accredited Provider system. The Provider will need to register you as "their" Assessor or Moderator.

You can register independently if you are contracting your services, but the Provider will need to get you on their records with the ETQA before they can employee you.

For SDF's:

Some SETA's have a registration process, while others register on submission of your first WSP. Contact the SETA for more details.

When does my Assessor and Moderator Registration Expire?

The Registration Expiry Date will appear on your Registration Documents. This is usually three years.

Do I have to attend the course again?

No. You simply apply for re-Registration.
